Three Hebrew Guys

No one in life can runaway from challenges or storms of life. No one.

It is because we all need it to excel. We need it to climb up the ladder of success. 

We need it to get to that next level and the only way to that next level is when we have conquered the storm. Unless it won't give you access to the next level. It prepares us for the best. It gets us ready and rightly equipped.

So we all need it. It's a stepping stone to the next greatness.

These three Hebrew guys - Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego - faced a critical storm in their life and we are going to learn how they overcame it.

These guys refused to bow to the golden image set up by King Nebuchadnezzar. You can get the gist here (Dan. 3:13-30). 

Here was the test of life - worship this golden image or die. They knew the King wasn't joking. They knew that their ranks as provincial leaders won't help them now.

The enemy isn't a respecter of positions. He doesn't care if you're a president or a pope or a bishop . If he tempted Jesus Christ in the wilderness,

he will tempt you too. If he attacked the ship Jesus was in, you can't escape him. You just have to face him.

Here, these Hebrew guys were faced with a decision to make. Either bow or die. As simple as it may sound, it was a matter of life and death.

If they choose to bow down, they disobey the Lord their God and therefore sin against God. If they choose not to bow down, a fiery furnace

awaits.

Most of us at this point would decide to bow believing that you can ask for mercy later. You see, that's where we miss it. 

We miss that glorious opportunity that God provides for us to prove the enemy that He is still God and He still loves His children.

We fail to climb up to that next level when we bow to obstacles. Instead, we fall faced down.

It is never easy when faced with the storms of life. But you've got to remember that He, our Lord said "He will never leave us nor forsake us".

He said He will be our God forever. He has chosen to be our God. And He proved His love for us when He sent His son to die. 

He said,

 we should cast our burden on Him and He will support (sustain) us (Ps. 55:22).

When we are faced with challenges, what we should understand is, at that point, every word we say regarding that situation is important.

Jesus said, "peace be still" to the storm. He used the right words to win against the enemy in the wilderness.

Here was these Hebrew guys telling the king, "Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace".

They boasted in the Lord. That statement was an affirmation that they knew who they were serving. "Our God whom we serve is able...".

Indirectly, they were telling King Nebuchadnezzar that the God they serve is a "God with abilities" unlike the golden image.

To face troubling matters in our everyday life, it's very vital we know who we are serving. With that essential knowledge in our hearts and minds,

we can face the enemy.

"...to deliver us from the fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand". 

They knew they had a God who delivers. That knowledge of Him gave them boldness and the strength to stand their ground. How well do you know your God? For instance, if you don't know that God can heal, the enemy will continue bringing ill health upon you. 

The bible says, 

"my people go into exile for lack of knowledge" (Isa. 5:13). 

You need to read and study the bible to know what our God is capable of. But I can boldly say, He can do all things. He said in His word, "Is there anything too hard for me to do"?

That question should always run in your mind when faced with grave situations. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego knew this and they took advantage of the opportunity presented to them to show the satraps, prefects, and the governors, the counsellors, the treasurers, the justices, the magistrates, and all the officials of the provinces gathered that they served a living God, a God with abilities.

Be ready to die! 

Be ready to die a physical death to show allegiance to the Lord our God, then He will fight for you. Most of the words we utter are just mere words.

We've got to mean every word that proceeds from our mouth. Some of us will prefer sleeping with our bosses than being sacked. We forget that it's the same God whom we are denying that gave us the job. 

These brilliant guys didn't say they would rather die just for saying sake. Just thinking about the job they had could have made them not to want death. I mean, they weren't suffering. With their kind of job, they were totally living a comfortable life. 

But they were ready to give everything up. They meant it.  And the king must have seen that because he became so angry that he commanded that the furnace be heat up seven times.

Even yet, they didn't change their minds. And they were thrown into the fire and the HolySpirit was there with them in the fire. Fire became an Air-conditioner. God was there with them to deliver them and He did. He couldn't have allowed their trust in Him or those words they spoke become empty utterances. He backed them up. 

Although, most of us, we fight but not to the end. We have to fight to the end. NO matter how hot the devil might be making our problems, we've got to hang in there, keep firm on your faith in God. Do not faulter. 

Challenges will surely come but the outcome totally depends on you.

It depends on how you attack it. You need the knowledge of the word of God to win any battle in this life. Because the word of God is the sword of the spirit. Why will you go into battle without your sword. You definitely need your sword.

God is always with you and He is in you. He needs you to act. He can't fight for you until you fight for yourself. You've got to stand your ground as a son or daughter of the Most High God. Don't keep quiet. You need to open your mouth and proclaim your possession that you have in God.

The devil knows what you have. I guess that's why it is called temptation. He tries you to know if you are genuinely acquainted with God the Father. If you

don't know Him, then you are in trouble with him. 

Everything you need to know about your Father in heaven has been detailed for you in the bible. Study the bible and the Holy Spirit will teach you and even give you utterance against the storm ahead when the need arises.

He's still asking you today, "Is there anything too hard for me to do?" 

Every time you fail life's test, just know you have failed that question. And anytime you pass the test, know that you've just passed the question - 

Was there ever anything too hard for HIM to do? - NOTHING
