How To Live The Life Of A King - Part 1

Ever wondered why some certain times you just feel like you are not doing enough to get to where you want to be or to become who you want to be?

I too have wondered.

I believe you have too.

Sometimes, you feel like just giving up; like don’t giving a damn about what happens to you, now or in the future.

Yeah, I know that feeling.

We all have one time or the other gone through these paths…paths of struggle, disappointment, etc. You just don’t get it why everyone is succeeding and you aren’t. You don’t understand why nothing seems to be working for you even after you have followed and obeyed the rules/commandments of the successful.

At times, you even think this is your destiny; born to fail, struggle, etc
Then you decided to get encouragement from your loved ones, but they can’t give what they don’t have; they are in the same boat as you.

I have been in this boat before but not anymore.

Well, I have good news for you. The reason you feel the way you are feeling now is because you haven’t been living a life consistent with who you really are.

A lion will never feel bad or disappointed when he is in the jungle. Neither will a fish feel terrible living in water.

The reaction your entire system is giving you is a sign that you are where you are not supposed to be. And that should be good news.

So if you are not where you should be, it also means you are not yet who you should be. Meaning this downcasted, failed and frustrated person you think you are, isn’t who you are.
So are you just going to give up and let life decide for you or are you going to stand up and declare that “I AM A KING!” And you are not going to allow the circumstances of life rule/lead you, you are going to prove your worth as a king that you are.

YES, YOU ARE A KING!

Everyone was born a king, a ruler, a creator, a commander. It’s up to you to decide to live that way.

How to live a life of a king?

KNOW THAT YOU ARE A KING
First of all, acknowledge who you are in Christ - you are a born king.

You made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put everything under their feet: all flocks and herds, and the animals of the wild, the birds in the sky, and the fish in the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas. Ps. 8:6-8

That is King David talking. He was a king who won virtually all his battles because he knew who he was in Christ. He wasn’t just a mere person but a king who has been made a ruler over everything. He knew that everything was put under his feet.

He didn’t come to this knowledge after He became king of Israel; he had always known who he was. Remember how he defeated the beasts that came to steal his father’s sheep and you also remember the remarkable victory in history against Goliath.

Because he knew who he was, he operated and lived a life consistent with it. He knew that the God of his ancestors, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, had given them authority, dominion, to rule and reign in this life over every circumstance that may arise before them.

So stop feeling bad or pity about your situation and face the giant. Defeat the giant before you or you won’t be fit to be the king you have been made to be.

Let me let you in on something. The mountain before you is scared of you. That situation you are facing is strong because you made it so. Every circumstance in your life knows that you are capable of pulling through it.

Goliath and the Philistines must have heard how Israel had defeated and eliminated mighty nations from the face of the earth. What Moses and others did was written for the future generation to read and know there is a “living” God and His name is Jehovah. Goliath and his people have also read it. They knew who they were challenging.

Hence the reason why they sent forth their strongest man in the philistines army to challenge the Israelites.

What you are facing at the moment knows who you are. It’s a challenge to see if you are who God says you are.

You are not just a king, but a king who have been crowned with glory and honour.

But there is a place where someone has testified: “What is mankind that you are mindful of them, a son of man that you care for him?
You made them a little lower than the angels; you crowned them with glory and honor
and put everything under their feet.” In putting everything under them, God left nothing that is not subject to them…Heb. 2:6-8

It didn’t say “you will be crowned” but that “You have been CROWNED!” Crowned with glory and honour and everything is under your feet.

They are subject to you. What you are going through right now is actually subject to you.

EVERYTHING!

And that includes every mountain (sickness, immorality, debt, poverty, joblessness, disease, curses, deafness, dumbness, blindness, etc) presently before you.

You are made to RULE over them ALL.

Our God isn’t called the KING of kings for nothing. He is our KING. And He made us kings to rule and reign.

Know and live as a king that you are.
