Before you
became born again, you were perishable. So, you will ask.
Am I
imperishable?
Yeah you
are.
I don’t know
if you’ve heard this before that the real YOU is your spirit. Your body isn’t
the real YOU but your spirit is. Your body is just housing the real you. The
enemy doesn’t attack your body but your spirit. If they can get your spirit,
they have gotten you. And of course, anything that is wrought on your spirit
will definitely reflect on your physical life.
Rationally, the devil is a spirit and so is
God. So these spirit beings have no business with your body but your spirit.
God talks to your spirit-man and so does the devil. We need the body to enable
us live on this earth that was created by God our Father for humans with
bodies.
When you
became born again, you accepted Christ to be your Lord and personal Saviour. He
came into your life and He became your Lord (Master). But that was just a
stepping stone to the real thing.
Then you
were baptized in water and subsequently in the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 3:11
“I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire."
John the Baptist was implying that only Christ can baptize a
person with the Holy Spirit and fire. So you need Him (Christ) in your life to receive
this great personality into your life.
So, what
makes you “imperishable”?
The Spirit
of God (the Holy Spirit) makes us imperishable. Just wait for it, I’m almost
there. When you understand this, it will help you live that assured life of a
Christian.
The Spirit
of God is more than a comforter and a teacher.
The Spirit
of God is a “Life-giving Spirit”. When Christ died on the Cross of Calvary, he
freed us from death.
We were all sinners
before Christ died for us all.
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
After He
arose from the tomb, death flee because our sins were washed by His blood on
the cross.
God gave us
a gift indirectly and that is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans
6:23).
We have
eternal life in Christ. It means even when our bodies die, we merely cease to
belong on earth but still continue to live in heavenly places. Halleluyah!
The bible
says in John 6:63
“The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing…”
I just hope you understand that verse; whatever is going on in
your body, you shouldn’t be bothered, as long as you have the Holy Spirit in
you, He will give that body of yours life.
Romans 8:11 says "And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you."
Wow!
On the third day, Jesus was raised to life by the
Spirit of God. And now, the above verse says, if that same Spirit lives in you,
it will vitalize your mortal body.
Brethren, it means you have the source of life in
you. You have the giver of life in you. He can make that dead relationship come
alive, that dead business come alive, that dead brain, cells, tissues or system
come alive again. Nothing is too hard for him to do.
Friend, that your life can be renewed again only
if you can surrender to Him- the giver of life.
You have seen what He did to Jesus whom He raised
after three days. No matter the period, He will vitalize that thing that is so
dead in your family, job, career, etc.
